Hand-finished in Britain from organic and regeneratively farmed British wool felt, the Stone colourway is left undyed — washed only with organic detergent and shaped from fleece that's hand-sheared and fully traceable from farm to finish.

Naturally insulating, breathable and antibacterial, wool protects the head from rising heat so you can stay in the sauna longer. Real British leather, tanned using traditional oak-bark methods, finishes each piece, alongside organic cotton thread and webbing.

  • Organic & regeneratively farmed British wool felt (500 g/m²)
  • Oak bark-tanned British leather accents
  • One size · unisex · adjustable leather buckle
  • Handcrafted in Britain · linen bag included
Why use a sauna hat?

Sauna hats have been part of traditional sauna culture for centuries across Scandinavia, Russia, and Japan. Worn to shield the head from intense heat, they keep you comfortable and balanced through a longer, slower session.

Benefits

  • Protects your head and ears from extreme heat.
  • Keeps your head cooler than your body, allowing longer, more comfortable sauna sessions.
  • Supports thermoregulation, helping the body maintain balance and endurance.
  • Preserves hair and scalp health, reducing dryness and damage from heat exposure.
  • Enhances recovery and relaxation, allowing you to fully unwind and restore.
Materials & Craftsmanship
  • Organic & regeneratively farmed British wool felt (500 g/m²) — naturally insulating, breathable, antibacterial, and ethically sourced. The wool is undyed, washed only with organic detergent, and the sheep are hand-sheared, ensuring minimal stress and complete traceability from farm to finish.
  • Real British leather accents, tanned using traditional oak-bark methods. Each piece is hand-cut in Britain. The slow, natural process produces a rich, durable leather that develops a beautiful patina with age.
  • Organic cotton thread & webbing — every seam and fastening is finished with certified organic cotton, chosen for its strength, softness, and minimal environmental impact.
  • Handcrafted in Britain in small-batch runs, with the time and care each piece deserves.
  • Each hat arrives with a complimentary organic linen bag, designed to store and protect it between uses.
Sustainability

Every Amurr piece is made using materials sourced through regenerative and traditional methods that respect both the land and the craft. We work in small production runs to minimise waste and ensure each hat receives the attention it deserves.

Our partners and tanneries uphold environmentally responsible practices — choosing longevity over excess, and preserving techniques that have been quietly proven for generations.

Sizing & Fit
  • One size fits all — designed for a comfortable, unisex fit.
  • Adjustable oak bark–tanned leather buckle, similar to a traditional cap, for a tailored feel.
  • The wool felt naturally shapes to your head over time.
Care Instructions
  • Air dry naturally between uses — the wool is naturally antibacterial and doesn't need washing after every session.
  • Store in the provided organic linen bag when not in use.
  • If cleaning is needed, hand wash gently in cool or tepid water using a mild wool soap.
  • Lay flat on a towel to dry naturally — do not wring or twist.
  • Avoid machine washing, direct sunlight, and tumble drying.
  • Incorrect washing may loosen the wool fibres or affect the felt's structure.

Sheep to sauna

A British story, the whole way through

The wool is undyed. The colour you receive is the colour the sheep grew — or a quiet blend of British fleeces our felter draws together in the workshop. No two hats land the same. Each one carries the small variations of the flock it came from.

We are starting with Stone. As we find new flocks and trial new blends, the line will quietly grow — different breeds, different naturals, weights of grey and brown and cream — each colourway sitting alongside the last, none replacing it. From the farmers we trust to the British hands that felt and finish each piece, every step stays close to home.
